Crime Details as on Friday, May 18, 2012
- On May 17, Tura police arrested one Tomtom Ch. Momin (19 yrs), in connection with an extortion case under Tura PS.
- On May 17 around 10.30 pm, unknown miscreants assaulted Shri Thronglin Sohtun (35 yrs) at Pomlakrai village (EKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH, Shillong, where he died (May 18). Investigation is in progress.
- On May 15 circa 6.30 pm, one Bishar Kyndait assaulted Shri Sekarius Shylla with a ‘dao’ at Sohmynting village (JH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.
- One woman lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on May 14 circa 6.30 pm, one Lurshai Kharmujai raped her in her residence at Madan Laban, Shillong.
- Smt. Mary Rose Sungoh lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that Smt. Hoimaya Sungoh was found missing from her residence at Jowai (JH) since May 8 afternoon. Subsequently a telephone call was received from one Edify Khonglah in which he threatened the family members of the victim and also demanded Rs. 50 lakh for her release.
- On May 4 around 12.45 pm, unidentified driver and handyman of a truck (AS-01-DC-0157) assaulted Shri Roymond Japang, driver of another truck (AS-01U-7166) at Ialong (JH). As a result, he sustained injuries.
- Shri Shambhu Choudhury lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that in between Apr. 21 and Apr. 30, 2012, his servant viz., Abhay Yadav stole (1) gold ornaments and idol total valued around Rs. 85,000/-, (2) cash Rs. 5,000/- and (3) one PAN card from his house at Punjabi Line, Iewduh, Shillong.
